Embedded software testing

Verify firmware, RTOS components, and low-level software.

  • Functional and requirements-based testing
  • Unit-level validation with code coverage
  • Integration testing (modules, drivers, and peripherals)
  • Boundary, negative, and error-path verification
  • Static analysis and coding-standard compliance checks
  • Real-time and interrupt-behavior testing

Embedded hardware testing

Measure and validate the behavior of embedded boards and their components.

  • Board bring-up and functional testing
  • Peripheral and interface verification
  • Voltage, current, and power measurement
  • Power consumption and sleep/wake-mode
  • Signal integrity and logic analysis
  • Fault injection and recovery testing
  • Pre-compliance testing

Protocol & connectivity testing

Communication reliability, protocol compliance, and interoperability — assessed by experts.

  • Protocol conformance (CAN, Modbus, MQTT, I2C, Ethernet)
  • Interface and timing verification (UART, SPI)
  • Wireless connectivity
  • Traffic capture and analysis
  • Load and stress testing of interfaces
  • Data integrity and error handling

Hardware-in-the-loop testing

Simulation-based testing to evaluate device behavior under modeled conditions of a real environment.

  • Real-time behavior testing
  • Operating- and failure-scenario testing
  • Automated HIL test execution and regression

Security testing

Assess embedded products against common cybersecurity threats and security standards.

  • Secure boot and firmware updates
  • Authentication and authorization
  • Communication interfaces
  • Vulnerability and attack-surface testing
  • Data protection

Test automation & regression

Automate repeatable tests and integrate them into your CI pipeline.

  • Automated test suites
  • Firmware regression testing
  • CI/CD pipeline
  • Automated test reporting and defect tracking

Embedded QA flow

A structured approach to testing and validating embedded products

Analysis & test preparation

The QA team reviews product specifications, architecture, and risks alongside engineers to define the testing strategy and prepare test cases.

Test execution

We run automated builds and regression tests, including end-to-end tests, to validate firmware, hardware, integration, and system behavior under normal, boundary, and failure conditions.

Bug fixing & retesting

Defects are investigated, fixed, and retested until the product meets the agreed criteria and is ready for deployment.

Release & documentation

We conduct end-to-end testing to validate the complete product and prepare it for release. The client also receives documented test results showing what was tested and confirming that the product meets the agreed-upon criteria.

In-house lab

Dedicated infrastructure for hardware and system-level validation

An in-house lab with professional equipment allows us to test and debug embedded products, measure electrical and communication signals, and investigate issues that cannot be identified through software testing alone.

Oscilloscopes and logic analyzers ● Power supplies and electronic AC & DC loads ● Regulated AC power supplies ● Battery cell emulators ● Signal and spectrum analyzers ● Multimeters and electrical measurement tools ● Debugging and programming interfaces ● Soldering equipment

Why us

Work with a partner invested in your product's quality and reliability

Result-oriented project ownership

QA engineers take responsibility for the product's overall quality and performance, rather than simply executing assigned test cases. They use engineering judgment to prioritize critical risks and shape the testing strategy to ensure the final product performs as intended.

Experience with regulated projects

Hands-on experience in testing embedded products for healthcare, automotive, and energy, where verification must be traceable and supported by documented evidence. QA activities run throughout development, backed by ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.

Controlled, context-aware AI-assisted testing

Lemberg Solutions follows a defined framework for using AI to accelerate test script development, saving up to 20% of engineering time. Client code stays in a controlled environment, and QA engineers review and validate every generated script before execution.

Certified QA experts

A team of ISTQB- and ASTQB-certified QA professionals with 10+ years of experience testing embedded products. Practical domain expertise combined with established testing discipline.
